Asset Recovery

Assets do not disappear. Records do.

We assist individuals, families, legal heirs and investors in identifying and recovering unclaimed financial assets — shares, dividends, provident fund balances, insurance policies and dormant bank deposits.

Overview

Why assets become unclaimed

Financial assets rarely go missing through any single failure. They go quiet — an address that changed and was never updated, an account that stopped being used, a company that merged, a shareholder who died before telling anyone what was held.

Years later a family finds a certificate in a file, a dividend warrant that was never banked, or an employment record pointing to a provident fund balance that was never withdrawn. The asset generally still exists. What is missing is the chain of documentation connecting it to the person entitled to it.

Our work is to rebuild that chain: establish what is likely to exist, identify what documentation is required, and support the claim through to submission and follow-up.

Process

Our process

  1. 01

    Initial assessment

We review whatever information is available — certificates, folio numbers, old statements, employment records — and establish what is likely to be recoverable.

  2. 02

    Documentation review

We identify precisely which documents the relevant authority or registrar will require for your specific situation.

  3. 03

    Claim preparation

Supporting documentation is assembled and checked before anything is submitted.

  4. 04

    Submission guidance

Support through the submission process and the requirements attached to it.

  5. 05

    Follow-up assistance

Guidance on procedural requirements and queries raised after submission.

Documents commonly required

Requirements vary considerably by asset type and by individual circumstances.

  • PAN card
  • Aadhaar card
  • Address proof
  • Bank account details
  • Demat account information
  • Share certificates, where available
  • Death certificate, for legal heir cases
  • Legal heir or succession documents
  • Nomination records
  • Employment records, for provident fund matters

Timeline

What drives the timeline

Recovery timelines depend on the asset type, the completeness of documentation, the verification requirements that apply, and the processing timelines of the relevant authority, company or registrar.

Cases differ substantially. A holding with a clear paper trail and a living holder is a different proposition from a legal heir claim requiring succession documentation. We give a realistic view of the position at the assessment stage rather than a generic estimate.

Questions

Frequently asked

  • It is usually enough to begin an assessment. A certificate gives the company name, folio number and holding details, which is generally sufficient to establish what existed and to identify what documentation the recovery will require.
